What is your position and how long have you been with ENCON?
I have been with the company since 1978. I currently work in technical support and project management – I am a problem solver!
How did you get your start in the industry?
I was 14 years old and my best friend’s uncle owned an air conditioning business – that was my first summer job. Later, I went to Lincoln Tech.
What is a big career highlight at ENCON so far?
When I was a project manager and working on controls in the early 2000s. Big projects that stand out are the Glenmont House and Thomas Edison’s house (with 27 bedrooms)!
Where can we find you on the weekends?
I love to do projects around the house and still try to golf every weekend. In the winter we ski in New England and Colorado.
What’s the best thing about working at ENCON?
I am always learning and the company encourages that. I have worked in EVERY department and have come full circle. I started doing sheet metal work and then wanted to go into the service area. I really enjoying problem solving and fixing things, so I worked as a technician for a long time. I was the first guy to do controls – installing and service in the late 1990s. I went on to construction and project management, eventually running the controls department for seven years – it’s been great!
