MICHAEL SUPPA

Project Manager

What do you do here at ENCON and how did you get into the industry?
I am a Project Manager. My father did exterior Christmas decorations in our town, even the ball on New Year’s Eve! He did a lot of electrical work in New York City and all over NJ. When I was a kid I started working in his warehouse, and when I turned 18 I was allowed to go out on jobs. I trained with him on and off for nine years and it was the best training anyone could get!

What is a big career highlight so far?
When I got promoted to Project Manager/Layout Coordinator. Hard work pays off!

Did you have a mentor?
My mentor was my first boss, Aldo. He taught how to wire, how to install conduit, how to do a proper layout, and ultimately how to become a project manager.

What is your passion outside of work?
I have played guitar for 30 years. I sing oldies and also go to see a lot of live entertainment and shows. I was in a rock band in the ‘80s and still love Rush, Van Halen, and classic hard rock.

What’s the best piece of advice you have ever received?
“The only thing permanent in life is change.”
