What is your background and current role at ENCON?
I am the head estimator here. I have been in the HVAC business for 40 years in various capacities. During that time I owned and operated my own HVAC company, profitably, for 17 years until it was sold in 2000.
I have experienced all facets of this business over the years and greatly value the “hands-on” experience I had running my own business, as well as working with some of the top people in the field – from architects and engineers to designers and some well respected HVAC business owners.
What is a highlight of your career?
At ENCON, working on the notable 300,000 sq ft Mt. Kimball office building project in Morristown, as well as earlier in my career working on the HVAC for the Statue of Liberty Museum.
How would you describe the team and culture here?
There is a vast collection of knowle dgeable people here at ENCON- the best collection of highly experienced people I’ve ever worked with (with 30 – 50 year careers). There’s a lot of collaboration and people to turn to – everyone shares their knowledge.
What is the best advice you’ve ever received?
Respect older people who have more experience – latch on and listen to everything they have to say.
What can we find on your office desk?
A cup of yesterday’s coffee and photos of my granddaughters.
